Victoria Beckham faced rumors of her husband's infidelity, as documented by Tom Bower in his new book.

The House of Beckham: Money, Sex and Power, exposes their dynamics during David's tenure at Real Madrid.

In 2003, rumors of the athlete's involvement with his assistant, Rebecca Loos, shook their foundation. Despite the allegations, he consistently refuted any wrongdoing.

Rebecca's decision to share her story with the News of the World significantly impacted Victoria's plans to relocate to Spain.

According to the book, Victoria's adjustment to life in Madrid was fraught with challenges. Bower sheds light on her struggles in the Spanish city, revealing that she felt disconnected and lonely despite her lavish lifestyle.

Per Tom, via The Mirror, "Her life in Madrid was lonely and unhappy. Although she had everything money could buy, she was isolated. With few friends, she was unwilling to learn Spanish. Her diet, rigorous exercise, and chain-smoking reflected her anxieties."

In the Netflix documentary Beckham, David openly acknowledged his uncertainty about how he and his wife crossed the swirling rumors, emphasizing their commitment to protecting their family. The soccer superstar confessed to experiencing constant unease as their names were splashed across media outlets after the scandalous allegations, which he had previously dismissed as preposterous.

In the documentary, which was released last year, the former Spice Girls disclosed that the couple was in constant opposition. During that period, she resided in the UK, where Brooklyn and Romeo were pursuing their education, while David was stationed in Spain for work.

David reflected on their situation, "Every time that we woke up we felt there was something else ... we both felt at the time that we were not losing each other but drowning."

When asked how they survived their marriage, David said, "I don't know how we got through it, in all honesty. Victoria is everything to me, to see her hurt was incredibly difficult, but we're fighters and at that time we needed to fight for each other, we needed to fight for our family. And what we had was worth fighting for."

He added, "There were some days that I would wake up and think, 'How am I going to go to work? How am I going to walk onto that training pitch? How am I going to look as if nothing's wrong?' I felt physically sick every day when I opened my eyes, 'How am I going to do this?'"

Following the reports of David and Rebecca in the headlines, Victoria decided to relocate to Madrid to stay by her husband's side. Together, they acquired a luxurious home worth $3.2 million in the Spanish city where their son Cruz was born. Despite embracing their new life in Madrid, Victoria couldn't shake off the feeling of discontent and began to feel detached from her life back in the UK, the book claims.
