Sabrina Carpenter continues to dominate the charts with each passing day, solidifying her position as one of music's biggest stars.
Her latest achievement comes from the YouTube platform, where Carpenter's music video for "Please Please Please" has topped the Global Music Videos Chart.
The video, featuring Barry Keoghan, garnered an impressive 20,594,489 views during the tracking period of June 7-13.
When considering views from all eligible uploads, "Please Please Please" amassed a total of 25,333,618 YouTube plays during this time frame. This achievement secured a #4 debut on the Global YouTube Songs Chart, joining Carpenter's "Espresso" which holds the #5 position in the Top 5 of that chart.
In her latest interview with The Rolling Stone, Sabrina Carpenter actually talked about the song, working with Keoghan for it, and their dating relationship. It was revealed that she wanted to keep who she's dating private.
She said, "The [dating] pool is the pool, and when you meet people that feel authentic and are so brilliant and amazing in every way, that's what you do," Carpenter says. "Obviously, I write songs about exactly how I feel, so I guess I can't be so surprised that people are interested in who and what those songs are about. That's something that comes with the territory."
According to The Rolling Stone as well, Jack Antonoff said Carpenter adopts a gentle twang in this song to give a lover some warning: "Heartbreak is one thing/My ego's another/I beg you don't embarrass me, motherfucker."
"There's like an Olivia Newton [John] feeling, there's a Dolly feeling, there's an incredibly super modern pop feeling," Antonoff said.
"The little vocal runs she does are so bizarre and unique - they're doing this really odd, classic, almost yodel-y country thing. She's becoming one of the biggest young pop stars, and that song is such a statement of expressing yourself, not just lyrically, but sonically," Antonoff added.
Questions surrounding Carpenter and Keoghan's relationship intensified in April when Keoghan was prominently seen at the forefront of the singer's debut Coachella performance, where she electrified the audience with her single "Espresso."
Following the music festival, the couple made a notable appearance together at the 2024 Met Gala, opting for a photographed reunion at the top of the iconic steps rather than a joint carpet entrance.
Since then, the "Feather" performer and star of The Banshees of Inisherin have celebrated several relationship milestones, including Carpenter's 25th birthday at DUMBO House in Brooklyn, which Keoghan organized.
According to a source close to the couple who spoke to People magazine, Carpenter blew out her birthday candles before sharing a tender kiss with her partner.
After the two young stars pulled up to the Met Gala with one another, they worked on the "Please Please Please" video, racking up over 21 million views in a week after its release on June 7.
