Wendy Williams' current guardianship under Sabrina Morrisey, in effect since 2022, has sparked significant controversy and debate online. People close to Williams say her conservatorship sufferings are far worse than what pop star Britney Spears had to endure.

Numerous family members and close friends have expressed dissatisfaction with the level of care Williams has received.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun (via Hot New Hip Hop), longtime friend Regina Schell voiced concerns, drawing parallels between Williams' situation and Britney Spears' contentious conservatorship under her father Jamie.

"This is a Britney Spears thing, only it's worse since it's not even Wendy's family who has control," Regina Schell said of Wendy Williams' situation. "At least with Britney Spears, it was her dad, it was her family. This is a woman who's not even family. And how does this guardian get all this standing?."

She added, "Wendy was looking for real estate. She was talking to a financial expert at Bank of America to try to gain control of her finances. I don't know how she went to at least 90% Wendy to now incapacitated and can never see anyone again. What's the end game in all of this? She should be surrounded by friends and family right now. Not isolated and alone."

Additionally, Wendy Williams made headlines recently in connection with another major story this year. Charlamagne Tha God mentioned her role in perpetuating rumors about Diddy's sexuality, which had repercussions for her career in the past.

Meanwhile, reports surfaced that Wendy Williams' guardian had sold her New York City penthouse, despite conflicting reports about her deteriorating health due to dementia.

These events have contributed to a whirlwind of rumors, claims, and conflicts that have unsettled many. Hopefully, moving forward, her family can advocate effectively for her well-being without further complications. Fans continue to monitor the situation closely, hoping for positive developments in the days ahead.

It can be recalled that in her memoir, The Woman in Me, Spears' true feelings during the decade-long legal ordeal were revealed.

The pop star alleges that her conservatorship was initiated by her father and supported by a business manager. The business manager, however, denies any involvement in establishing the conservatorship.

Spears recounts in her memoir that under the conservatorship, she lacked physical and financial autonomy and was isolated from the outside world. During a period in rehab, she was restricted to one hour of television daily and required to retire to bed by 9 p.m. She was constantly medicated and never left unsupervised.

"They kept me locked up against my will for months," she says in the book. "I couldn't go outside. I couldn't drive a car. I had to give blood weekly. I couldn't take a bath in private. I couldn't shut the door to my room."
