Can Fleetwood Mac members be on the same stage again years after Christine McVie's death?
On November 30, 2022, Fleetwood Mac lost McVie after suffering from a stroke amid her lengthy cancer battle. Before her passing, she told Rolling Stone she could not perform with the group due to a health issue she had.
Following the loss, Stevie Nicks set the record straight about the Fleetwood Mac reunion.
Speaking in her new interview with Mojo, Nicks clarified there is "no chance of putting Fleetwood Mac together" after McVie's death.
"Without Christine, no can do," Nicks said. "There is no chance of putting Fleetwood Mac back together in any way. Without her, it just couldn't work."
She also reflected on McVie's sudden death and how the news left them surprised.
"It was all stunningly strange because there wasn't any lead-up to it," she recalled. "We got a call, and I was going to rent a plane and go see her, but her family said, 'Don't come, because she may not be here tomorrow.' And the next day, she passed away."
Nicks said she wanted to be with their bandmate and sing to her. The loss was reportedly very hard for her since she was not able to say goodbye to McVie.
Prior to her passing, McVie marked her last performance with Fleetwood Mac in 2019. She joined the band in 1971 and retired from performing between 1998 and 2014.

"She was in the company of her family. We kindly ask that you respect the family's privacy at this extremely painful time, and we would like everyone to keep Christine in their hearts and remember the life of an incredible human being and revered musician who was loved universally," the message on Instagram read.
Her official death certificate revealed she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer before her death, but a massive stroke was the one that claimed her life.
The document, obtained by The Blast, said she had a "metastatic malignancy of unknown primary origin."
Several news outlets claimed she had been suffering from scoliosis prior to ger passing.
