Authorities apprehended Justin Timberlake in the Hamptons on Monday just after midnight.

Cops detained him and remains in custody, but he is set to appear in court later today.

People magazine reported that Timberlake was taken into custody for driving under the influence following dinner at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor, which is located in the eastern part of Long Island.

According to a Daily Mail insider, the "Cry Me A River" crooner had dined with friends and was later stopped by law enforcement upon departing from the gathering just past midnight.

"[Timberlake] was out to dinner with friends, and cop cars were stationed outside the restaurant like most nights."

"They look for people who are leaving after midnight who might have been drinking."

As soon as Timberlake left at 12:30 AM, the source said he was promptly stopped by law enforcement. Fortunately, no injuries occurred, and the situation was devoid of commotion.

Embarking on his Forget Tomorrow World Tour to promote his sixth studio album, "Everything I Thought It Was," the acclaimed Grammy artist is captivating audiences worldwide with his latest musical masterpiece, which was released in March.

Timberlake recently took the stage on Saturday at the Kaseya Center in Miami. The "Sexy Back" singer has upcoming performances lined up for Friday and Saturday at the United Center in Chicago.

Fans can also catch him in back-to-back shows next Tuesday and Wednesday at the Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The possibility of Timberlake having to reschedule any upcoming tour dates due to his recent arrest remains uncertain.

Timberlake has not addressed the incident on his social media platforms, with his most recent post dedicated to Father's Day last Sunday.

Per Page Six, the "Selfish" singer said in an emotional post over the weekend, "My 2 greatest gifts. I learn more about myself everyday just because you both chose me to be your Daddy," referring to kids Silas, nine, and Phineas, three.
