Katy Perry is set to make a big comeback later this week, as she's set to release a brand new song. Kesha seemingly reacted to her latest track because it was reportedly connected to Dr. Luke, the record producer with whom she was entangled in a legal battle.
The former American Idol judge is set to release her new single, "Women's World," on June 21. Many people claim on social media that Dr. Luke, whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald, was credited as a producer.
Following the announcement, Kesha took to her official X account and simply wrote, "Lol," which had fans speculating that her subtle shade on social media was about Katy Perry.
Fans immediately took to the comment section to share their reactions about the issue, as one wrote, "she's laughing at katy and her new song."
"even if Katy Perry's new song produced by Dr Luke, that reaction is so petty. because we know that you hate Katy, it's not about producer. Dr Luke worked with Doja Cat and Kim Petras too. what was your reaction about them, Kesha?" one wrote, criticizing the "TikTok" singer.
As of this writing, neither of the two artists has commented about the issue being circulated on social media.
Kesha was previously entangled in a lawsuit with Dr. Luke as she accused him of assault in 2014. According to the filing, the alleged incident happened in 2005.

The "Crazy Kids" hitmaker claimed that she woke up on the record producer's bed "sore and sick" and did not remember what had happened.
The lawsuit further alleged that the producer threatened Kesha that her career would shut down if she spoke publicly about the matter.
Two years after the filing, Kesha dropped her suit against Dr. Luke. On the other hand, the producer filed a defamation lawsuit against the singer, which was settled in 2023.
"Kesha and Dr. Luke have agreed to a resolution of the lawsuit, and have agreed to issue and post a joint statement regarding that resolution," a statement reads.
Following this, Kesha took to social media to share that she's looking forward to closing this chapter of her life to start a new one.
"I wish nothing but peace to all parties involved," she said.
Katy Perry's new song "Women's World" will be released on June 21, 2024.
