A mother experienced a "horrific" incident where she and son with disability were asked to leave a Pink concert.

Vanessa Vasey, 48, spent £630 or roughtly $1244USD on tickets to take her son Jesse, who has Down's Syndrome, to see Pink perform at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.

However, Jesse, who also lives with developmental, sensory, and neurodivergent needs, found it difficult to remain seated, prompting security to issue Vanessa an ultimatum.

The single mother stated that she and her son were treated "like criminals" by "around six security guards," who informed her that Jesse needed to "sit down or they must leave."

Vanessa explained that she tried to clarify the situation to security, but they insisted on escorting them from the premises before Pink, 44, had even begun her performance.

"I knew Jesse wouldn't be able to sit for that long as he has Down's Syndrome and other developmental, sensory and neurodivergent needs," explained the distraught mom.

She further explained to MailOnline, "When it came to sitting in our seats, Jesse didn't want to. So we stood up by our seats and Jesse was dancing. We weren't causing any problems - Jesse is 3ft tall and was entertaining everyone. Then six security guards showed up telling us we had to move."

"When I explained about Jesse's disabilities, they said there was nothing they could do - we either had to sit in the seats or leave. It was absolutely horrific. I argued our case and the only thing they offered us was to sit in the soundproof sensory room where Jesse wouldn't have heard any of the act and instead, would watch it on a screen, take our seats, or leave," she said.

Feeling like they had no choice, they left at 8.45pm, missing the entire concert.

The mother also posted about the ordeal on Facebook lengthily. The post has quickly became viral.

Vanessa said, "I'm speaking out and sharing what happened to Jesse as venues should be catering for additional needs. It should be an area where special needs don't have the expectation and restriction of being in their seats and behave a certain way where they can be safe and be themselves and enjoy the concert at the same time."

"And I'd like venue staff to have greater knowledge and understanding to support everyone equally in a manner in which they're able to be comfortable and supportive regardless of their needs."

Following the incident and Vasey's frustration, the mom went on to explain the impact the incident had on Jesse.

"Why do we take them? Because, as parents, we have the same dreams and aspirations for our children as any other parent," she wrote.

According to Daily Mail UK, a spokesperson for Tottenham Hotspur Stadium explained that they are aware of the Facebook post, but they have not received any direct complaint.

It still released a statement. It reads, "As a venue that prides itself on providing fully inclusive facilities for all, we are extremely sorry to hear that Jesse did not enjoy a positive experience at Saturday night's concert."

It added, "Following further investigation, we can confirm that Ms Vasey was offered assistance by our Safeguarding and Welfare teams throughout the night to provide Jesse with a comfortable viewing experience, including access to our dedicated Sensory Room. The offers of assistance were declined by Ms Vasey and the party chose to leave the event."

"Although our records show Ms Vasey purchased her tickets through Ticketmaster, we shall contact Ms Vasey directly. The safety and security of all event attendees remains our upmost priority.'"

Fans are split. Some said certain activities and venues are truly off limits from kids with disability, for their own sake too. Many however, sympathize with the mom as well.
