The Metro Nashville Police Department released a report after finding Terri Lynn Kathey's body, addressing the talks surrounding the cause of death.

Chattanooga news station WTVC ABC News Channel 9 received a confirmation from MNPD regarding the search and retrieval of the missing Nashville singer's remains. Kathey's husband told the department on Monday, June 17, that the 71-year-old musician had gone missing after leaving on Sunday, June 16, to deliver samples to the TVA central lab in Chattanooga.

Kathey, who was also known as Terri Lynn Blues, drove their 2017 Honda Civic and was last seen at a gas station on Music Valley Drive on Sunday, June 16, at 6:10 a.m. A friend confirmed she did not appear distressed when they last saw her.

Newsbreak users commented on news articles about Kathey's death, with some pointing fingers at her husband.

"My goodness, people jumping to immediate conclusions that her husband off'd her? She left the house, went to get the package, stopped to get breakfast, went to a nice lookout to eat her breakfast and God called her home," one said, reminding the other users that Kathey's husband was not a person of interest in the case.

The MNPD has shed some light on the cause of death to avoid further speculations.

"I believe detectives have been in touch with the family and local law enforcement in that area. Not sure of her cause of death at this point, but appears that it is most likely going to be natural," a spokesperson for the department told Fox 17 WZTV Nashville.

On the other hand, Kathey's friend Kerry Pharr said the musician probably suffered from a heart attack

Kathey's family did not disclose who found her body in the area, but they have released a statement to address the heartbreaking loss.

"It is with a sad heart to announce Terri Lynn Kathy has gone home to God," the post read. "We have known each other for 35 years. Terri Lynn allowed us to produce her latest album, Bad Blues Good News, as well as have us as her management company and Record Label. Terri had the kindest heart and desired to spread God's word through her music. We will forever miss her beautiful smile and inspiration."

She is survived by her husband, Kevin, and their two daughters, Lisa and Karole.

Details of the funeral and memorial services have yet to be confirmed.
