Scott Weiland passed away in 2015, and years after his death, toxicology reports stated that he died due to an accidental overdose. However, his widow, Jamie Wachtel Weiland, thinks otherwise, and she's now sharing "the truth" behind her late husband's passing.

The widow appeared in an episode of Appetite for Distortion podcast where she gave an insight into the late musician's death, saying when he died, the public believed it was tragic because he "overdosed," because she didn't think the singer died that way.

"He didn't f****** overdose, which I tried to get that point across. He didn't. Because he had drugs in his system, the coroner had to rule it an overdose," she said.

Jamie added "the truth," saying Scott passed away because the main artery in his left ventricle was 95% blocked, which was a result of a decade of using heroin as well as his entire adult life chain smoking.

"His heart stopped. Did he have trace amounts of drugs in his system? He did. Did I know he was using? No, I didn't, because he lied to me, because I had caught him before and it would always be this huge fight and I would be furious at him," she added.

She remembered talking to the coroner in Minnesota around the time of his death, questioning why her husband lied to him again, but the coroner was so kind and told her that maybe the musician didn't want to disappoint her.

"I really wanna clear up, that was not an overdose - it was not. He was not using heroin. He did not overdose on drugs. His heart stopped because his heart had been through so much abuse because of prior drug use in his life and smoking and heavy drinking," she clarified.

Later in the episode, Jamie shared more about their personal lives when Scott was still alive, saying the public could share their opinions about their relationship. Still, she did "pretty much all the heavy lifting" herself with him.

According to Rolling Stone, the musician was found dead in a tour bus bedroom in 2015. At the time, Jamie alerted a friend that her husband was not responding, so the friend checked on him in the bedroom and found him unresponsive. 911 was immediately called, and he was pronounced dead later that evening.
