Sabrina Carpenter is making waves on the charts, giving Taylor Swift some competition, moreso when she took a page from Swift and released different versions of a popular track.

The pop star is seizing the summer with her two smash hits, "Espresso" and "Please Please Please."

The latter, accompanied by a music video starring her boyfriend Barry Keoghan, debuted on June 7, featuring a Bonnie and Clyde narrative and romantic scenes between the couple.

"Please Please Please" made an impressive debut at No. 2 on the Billboard Charts in its first week. Building on its success, Sabrina released five additional versions of the track.

Alongside the original and clean versions, fans can now enjoy acoustic, sped-up, slowed-down, A cappella, and instrumental renditions of the song.

Fans on social media quickly drew comparisons to Taylor Swift, who also released multiple versions of her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," initially dropped on April 19.

One Reddit user commented, "Getting tips from Taylor, I see... no wonder Sabrina's been going all out lately." Another jokingly asked, "Did she ask Taylor for permission?"

Speculation arose that Carpenter's strategy of releasing multiple versions was aimed at boosting her position on the Billboard charts. Some do not like this strategy.

"The charts are so broken," one comment lamented, while another hoped for a revision of chart rules to address the impact of song variants.

At present, Swift and Carpenter continue to dominate the Billboard charts with their respective releases.

Since her 2022 album "emails i can't send," Sabrina Carpenter has reemerged as both a reflective, sex-positive singer-songwriter and what Quinta Brunson aptly dubs a "short pop bop queen"

Since then, she's embarked on a romance with Saltburn star Barry Keoghan, headlined a global tour, and even took the stage as Taylor Swift's opening act during the blockbuster Eras tour.

"It is magnificent to grow up idolizing someone, and then meet them, and they are all the things that you hoped that they would be," Carpenter says of Swift.

"On a personal level, she's really been there for me, and I'm so grateful. That's something she's taught me really well-she has remained very human throughout all of it."
