Kendrick Lamar is carefully managing every detail in anticipation of his upcoming video shoot in Compton.
He reportedly brought in extra security personnel from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
Amid lively talks and excitement among locals, murmurs have surfaced hinting at Lamar's plans to shoot the music video for his song "Not Like Us," reportedly in retaliation to his enemy, Drake.
Law enforcement insiders verified the speculations on Thursday, according to TMZ reports. The Sheriff's Department coordinated additional security measures by deploying deputies to various sites in Compton during the filming.
In light of the added security measures, the outlet said that no threats have been identified.
Nevertheless, much like the rest of the world, authorities are closely monitoring Lamar's recent feud with Drake and remain vigilant for potential issues.
Amid the diss-track, several security concerns arose involving different people, leading to several incidents of violence. Law enforcement was called to Drake's mansion in Toronto thrice over a week.
In early May, a security guard was injured by a trespasser at the perimeter of the mansion. Within that same timeframe, two individuals made an unsuccessful attempt to unlawfully enter the residence.
Moreover, that same month, there was another instance of security guard being shot at the residence of The Weeknd's manager.
These incidences transpired shortly following a public exchange of words between Drake and The Weeknd.
Currently, the mystery shrouding the ongoing music video shoot leaves fans guessing about the upcoming visual creation. As previously stated, speculation points towards "Not Like Us" as the chosen song, but with Lamar spending ample time in the studio recently, there's a slim possibility of a surprise new release.
Fans eagerly await more details, knowing that whatever unfolds, this music video is bound to make a significant impact, HotNewHipHop even dubbing it the upcoming video to be "easily the most anticipated music video of the year."
Reports also indicate that Lamar has potentially filmed scenes for the music video during his extraordinary Juneteenth event, The Pop Out: Ken & Friends. This exclusive show occurred on Wednesday, June 18, at the Los Angeles venue, KIA Forum.
