Justin Timberlake was arrested and charged on June 18 after spending a night out with friends in New York. More recently, it was reported that the singer freaked out after being apprehended by authorities, and he kept on insisting that he only had one drink while he was in custody.

According to a source who spoke with People magazine, the singer "was freaking out and stayed up all night when he was in custody... He's insisting he only had one drink and it wasn't some wild night out."

As of this writing, the musician's lawyer has yet to confirm whether this was true.

The recent news comes after the singer was arrested on DWI charges after drinking with friends at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor. He was put in custody overnight.

Based on his arrest report, obtained by the outlet, the musician insisted that he only drank one martini and then immediately followed his friends home.

The NSYNC member was charged with one count of driving while intoxicated and two citations for running a stop sign and failure to keep in lane.

He reportedly refused to take a breathalyzer three times, so a sobriety test was conducted, which he ultimately failed.

A source spoke with Page Six to reveal that the singer was cooperative throughout the arrest and didn't wasn't entitled.

Earlier that night, a witness told the outlet that the singer was "wasted" at one point as he grabbed a drink from a stranger who went to the bathroom.

"When [the man] came back, [Timberlake] was drinking his drink... The guy goes, 'Justin, that's my drink!'" the source revealed.

In other updates about the singer, Timberlake's court date is July 26, which will coincide with his concert in Kraków, Poland, as part of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour.

Fortunately, the musician won't have to cancel his upcoming show as the outlet noted that the court hearing will be virtual, and his lawyer will represent him in front of a judge.

As of this writing, his tour will still proceed as scheduled. He's set to appear at the United Center in Chicago, IL, on June 21, 2024.
