Christina Aguilera attracted negative comments for performing at a birthday bash for a Russian billionaire's girlfriend.

Page Six shared photos from the party which Russian billionaire and Aman resorts CEO Vladislav Doronin threw for his 30-year-old girlfriend, Kristina Romanova. The birthday bash featured performances, including a number from Aguilera.

Doronin and Romanova have always held lavish parties over the years. The business mogul previously dated Naomi Campbell and launched a legal battle to claim possessions that had not been returned after their breakup.

Aguilera also sang "Happy Birthday" while blowing kisses at Romanova.

After videos from the party emerged, social media users expressed their disappointment after Aguilera accepted the gig.

One said, "getting paychecks soaked in Ukrainian blood and partying on the bones of Ukrainians genocided by russians. what's good, @xtina?"

A second wrote it's as disappointing as her performing for some "russian billionaire" wife, while a third added, "With some celebs, all they see are $ signs, they don't care and/or look up who they are paid to perform for. This happens so much that I don't think many of them even try to understand the politics/situation surrounding the particular event. Even so, it's not an excuse."

Aguilera has not responded to the backlash.

On the other hand, the "Lady Marmalade" singer was not the only performer to be condemned after appearing at a billionaire's event.

In May, Rihanna was invited to perform at a pre-wedding event for Indian billionaire Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. She was later branded "lazy" and "boring" after getting paid over $6 million for a 90-minute appearance.

At the time, she performed her hit songs "Diamonds," "Work," "Rude Boy," "We Found Love," "Umbrella," "Stay" and more.

"My people paying that much for her?? They could have had Bollywood stars and a complete production instead, and it would've been better than this," one commented on a video of Rihanna's performance, while another person added, "I know it's essentially for a birthday party/wedding event, but come on. I've seen more lively performances on [Saturday Night Live]."

Rihanna, who has been preparing to release her album R9, did not comment on the criticism at the time.
