How many drinks did Justin Timberlake really have at The American Hotel?
An employee at the hotel in New York City disclosed the truth about the singer's consumption on the evening of his arrest on June 18.
Speaking anonymously to People magazine, the staff member provided insight into the 43-year-old's activities, corroborating Timberlake's statement that he had only consumed "one martini."
Another employee revealed to the outlet that the "Cry Me A River" singer's increased drinking habits did not occur at The American Hotel, stating, "If he was drinking more, it wasn't here."
Timberlake's DWI arrest in the Hamptons led to police apprehending him for driving while intoxicated. In response to Timberlake's arrest, the Sag Harbor Police Department made a public announcement, saying, On June 18, 2024, at 12:37 AM, Justin R. According to court records recently acquired by CNN, during the traffic stop, Timberlake informed law enforcement officers that he had consumed "just one martini and was simply following his friends home."
Descriptions provided by sources noted that the "Selfish" singer's eyes appeared red and watery, with a noticeable "strong smell of alcohol on his breath."
A police officer with the Sag Harbor Village Police Department stated that Timberlake displayed signs of drunkenness, including slurred speech, instability, and poor performance on sobriety tests. Despite being asked three times, he refused to take a breathalyzer test.
Following a brief detainment, Timberlake spent the night in custody before appearing in court at the Sag Harbor Village Justice Court the following day. By 9:30 AM, he was granted release without bail.
Reflecting on the events, the "Senorita" singer openly discussed the incident during his performance at Chicago's United Center on June 21.
According to Deadline, Timberlake told the audience, "This tour is just something that keeps watching over me, more so on this tour than any other. That's that mostly all of us here in this room tonight, in this arena tonight, have grown up together. So many of you come up to me and say, "I grew up with you, man."'
"I want each and every one of you to know I've grown up with you. You have been such a big and beautiful part of my life and sometimes I can't find the words to show my gratitude that you guys just keep riding with me and riding with me."
"And from the bottom of my heart, I want you to know that until I'm somewhere off this earth, I will never forget each and every one of you. You made my life so special. And tonight in Chicago, you have made us feel loved."
