Howie Mandel became the latest celebrity to comment on Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's marriage amid rumors about marital woes.
On Monday, June 24, the America's Got Talent co-host appeared on The Domenick Nati Show, where he touched on the alleged Bennifer's impending divorce.
"Ben and JLo: when you see that, someone that's been in this industry for almost 50 years ... why can't they make it? What is your thought?" Domenick Nati asked Mandel.
While the comedian initially said he would not know anything about the pair's relationship, he later highlighted how the Gone Girl actor never seemed happy with Lopez since they got back together.
"JLo and Ben, it seems like they spend a lot of time together, and every time you see them together, you see the looks on his face that they capture," said Mandel.
"So he just needs some separation from her," Nati suggested.
The 68-year-old producer, who has been married to his wife, Terry Mandel, since 1980, shared that having time apart is good for couples. He told the host his spouse was surely smiling somewhere while he was at the show without her.
Before Mandel's comment, sources told the Globe that the "On the Floor" singer has been furious with everyone supporting Affleck. The list included Matt Damon, Jennifer Garner and Affleck's mother, Christine Anne Boldt.
"J.Lo's relationship with Christine has always been tense," the source claimed. "Christine's extremely close to Ben's first wife, Jennifer Garner, and thinks he made the biggest mistake of his life by letting her go. J.Lo can't help but think Christine is poisoning his head against her and thinks it's pathetic that Ben's run back to his mommy."
The divorce rumors started after reports about the pair living separately surfaced. They also made public outings sans wedding rings, fueling speculations there might be an impending disaster in their marriage.
In addition, Affleck and Lopez's different styles and approaches toward fame reportedly affected their union. While the Justice League actor has long clarified he would like their relationship to be out of the social media spotlight, his wife has kept on sharing details about their romance that she also shared his private love letters with the public.
Lopez only stopped putting the spotlight when the divorce rumors began, per reports.
