SEVENTEEN announced their support for UNESCO's latest initiative for youth well-being and creativity.

Director-General of UNESCO Audrey Azoulay announced the appointment of SEVENTEEN's 13 members as the Goodwill Ambassador for Youth. The "Mansae" hitmakers, who debuted in 2015, will lead the launch of the joint grant program, "Going Together - For Youth Creativity and Well-Being," to support youth projects across the globe.

"This group has become a symbol for millions of young people around the world, to whom we transmit positive energy and the spirit of leadership," said Azoulay. "UNESCO, as the United Nations Organization for Culture and Education, is delighted to join forces with SEVENTEEN to give young people the means to express themselves and to take action to rise to this century's major challenges.

UNESCO's official website said SEVENTEEN will contribute $1 million to finance the grant scheme.

Joshua, one of the members of the group, delivered a powerful message on behalf of SEVENTEEN following the announcement.

"We are grateful to be recognized for our consistent effort and longstanding passion to contribute to youth worldwide," Joshua shared. "We know that our dreams don't stand alone and now, to give back what we've received from all of you, we are determined to use our voice to create a global youth community made stronger through mutual love and support."

The latest initiative will support other youth-led works that focus on the challenges affecting young people worldwide. It will collaborate with young project leaders, ages 18 to 30, from different places and backgrounds to fulfill UNESCO and SEVENTEEN's mission.

In addition, SEVENTEEN will be part of the specialized agency's awareness campaigns and events, as well as its values and actions, through their performances.

The news about the ambassadorship and the project came after the group's participation during the 13th UNESCO Youth Forum in November 2023.

Members of SEVENTEEN's fandom, Carat, have shown their warm support and expressed how proud they are of the group.

"my sebong, proud is an understatement i love you so much my 13" one wrote on X, with tons of emojis.

"WE'RE SO PROUD OF YOU OUR DEAR SEVENTEEN!!! @pledis_17," a second user said, while a third shared, "Well done Seventeen, looking forward for youth around world to use this medium."
