Shia LaBeouf is currently entangled in a lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend, FKA Twigs. More recently, it was revealed that the musician is seeking $10 million in damages, and a judge ordered both of them to appear in court to share their statements.

According to court documents obtained by InTouch Weekly, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ordered the ex-couple to answer questions under oath about the lawsuit. They were initially scheduled for an October court date, but it was later vacated, meaning a new one will be set in an upcoming hearing.

The legal battle stemmed from FKA Twigs accusing her ex-boyfriend of knowingly exposing her to an STD. She also claimed that the actor had been abusive throughout their relationship and even once threatened to shoot stray dogs when they were out together.

The "Oh My Love" hitmaker further alleged that Shia was possessive and she had a set of rules to follow when they were still dating.

Regarding her claims about the STD incident, the singer alleged that she confronted the actor about the disease, and he didn't deny it. However, regarding his official response, LaBeouf denied all the allegations.

According to People magazine, Shia LaBeouf and FKA Twigs met on the set of the film Honey Boy and became romantically involved from 2018 to 2019, around the time the actor was separated from his wife, Mia Goth.

In a previous interview with the New York Times, the singer revealed that her relationship was "the worst thing I've ever been through in the whole of my life."

"Any suggestion that FKA Twigs' emotional distress should be discounted because of any career success is preposterous and discounts the idea that victims should have hope for the future," FKA Twigs' lawyer, Bryan Freedman, said in a statement about the incident.

Since she has been seeking $10 million in damages, LaBeouf's camp retaliated, and his lawyer said the musician previously alleged that she lost money for not finishing her album and also lost contracts because of her ex-boyfriend.

However, his lawyer refuted that the singer is currently "thriving" with her career even after her relationship with the actor.

"She continues to be professionally active, regularly releasing music videos and new music in 2020-2021," LaBeouf's lawyer added.
