Nicole Scherzinger is looking back on her time with The Pussycat Dolls.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, Scherzinger fondly recalled her grueling schedule with the girl group.

"So the Dolls, it was a profoundly overwhelming experience, right?" Scherzinger described her time with the group. "It was very difficult because I was really learning about myself along the way."

According to the singers, the schedule "never allowed sleep." For Scherzinger, the constant touring schedule for them was a "recipe for disaster" that resulted in her having "sleeping issues."

However, she noted how the industry had changed from there to today. According to her, the industry is a "lot different now" because rules are already set in place compared to before.

"It was just kind of like, 'Work them to the bone until they're passed out,'" Scherzinger claimed.

As if the dysfunctional sleeping pattern wasn't enough, Scherzinger also claimed that her time with the group gave her body dysmorphia.

"It was difficult for me in the beginning because I didn't feel comfortable in my skin," Scherzinger admitted, noting that she "didn't feel exploited at all" because she was "in control" of what she was doing.

However, not everything was negative for the powerhouse vocalist. She noted that although she didn't like most of the clothes she wore, she had more creative control.

"I wanted to look like Will.i.am and Gwen Stefani. So I got to wear clothes that I felt empowered in," Scherzinger added. "And then the girls got to choose what they wanted too."

This wasn't the first time Scherzinger had opened up about the issues within the group. In a People interview, Scherzinger stated that their group had "never set up like the Spice Girls."

"Our group was set up where I would be the quarterback, and I would lead us," she confessed. "The girls are extremely strong, talented dancers, and I had to work hard to be able to stand next to them."

The group was composed by Scherzinger, who led the vocals, backed by dancers Melody Thornton, Jessica Sutta, Kimberly Wyatt, Carmit Bachar, and Ashley Roberts. Since Scherzinger was the group's lead vocalist, most records only featured her vocals.

Sadly, the group isn't returning anytime soon as their reunion has been marred with controversy, including their founders, Jimmy Iovine and Robert Antin.
