Ray J took to social media to share a concerning message following the recent BET Awards 2024 held at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles.
The 43-year-old artist posted a picture of himself appearing composed while walking the red carpet. According to his lengthy caption, referencing a backstage incident from the event, the photo was captured before things took a turn for the worse.
"First at #BET and then later on too! - I'm really at a braking point!' he captioned the image on his Instagram Story. 'To provide for my family and have generational wealth was always the plan. But, money is evil and people are band and I can't take it anymore!"
Kim Kardashian's ex added, "These chains of reactions are stemming from being locked in a false reality/ confused about this whole life!"
In response to the chaotic events unfolding, the artist expressed that the circumstances are incredibly "mind blowing," causing him "suicidal and uncomfortable with the perception of reality."
Ray J alleged that the BET Awards staff prevented him from re-entering the show, stating that they had locked him out and providing no explanation for their actions.
He said, "I don't know who they didn't want me to see - it was weird."

Toward the end of his rant, Ray J concluded, "THEY PAID ME TO SHUT UP AND I DID! I FEEL BAD AND HATE MYSELF FOR IT! I DON'T WANT ANYMORE OF YOUR DIRTY MONEY!!'"
He ended his message with a farewell to his sister, Brandy, and a heartfelt pledge to set things straight.
"I won't let them get away with it! I told the people close to me that I felt like something is about to happen. F--k it. I said it."
According to a report by Us Weekly, he and Zeus Network CEO Lemuel Plummer confronted each other outside rapper GloRilla's BET Awards afterparty, which led to a physical altercation.
Video footage circulating online captured the moment the two individuals engaged in a heated exchange. The exchange culminated in Ray J attempting to throw a punch at Plummer, only to be interrupted by security and escorted away from the scene.
Vibe reported in May claiming that Ray J accused Plummer of coercing and mistreating women to secure appearances on a Zeus Network show. Ray J even mentioned the possibility of legal action against Plummer. Despite speculation that Ray J's motives might be related to promoting his Tronix Network, he denied the accusations.
