In Touch Weekly sources gathered that Justin Timberlake's friends seemed to have coddled him up since his recent arrest.
Turns out, insiders have shared that the NSYNC vocalist is surrounded by friends who only hype him up and make him feel good - the reason why he refuses to go to rehab amid his alleged drinking problem.
"It's not 2004, and this isn't an episode of Entourage," one of Timberlake's friends told the outlet. "It's real life, and Justin clearly needs to work on more things about himself than his golf swing. The problem has always been that he lives in a bubble."
According to the source, Timberlake grew up like this because of his mother's treatment of him -"like a little prince who could do no wrong."
For that friend, Timberlake's childhood has set the tone for how he lived his life as an adult, extending why the singer "lacked any remorse" in the aftermath of his DWI arrest.
"Since he was a kid, Justin has been very careful to surround himself with people who only shower him with praise and adoration, and that's clearly led him down a bad path," the source confirmed. "People who are living right don't get pulled over for drunk driving, especially on a Monday night!"
The source suggests that Timberlake's wife, actress Jessica Biel, seemed to be of no good use to him as a positive influence.
"It's a bad look all the way around, and you wish Jessica would step up and be the one to set Justin straight, but she's still just as much of a fangirl as everybody else in his circle," the same source claimed.
The source also revealed that although there might be plenty of the singer's friends who aren't on his payroll, they are consciously "not telling him the harsh truths he needs to hear," specifically regarding his lifestyle, songwriting, and even his haircut.
Timberlake was arrested in Sag Harbor, New York, for driving while intoxicated on June 18, 2024. The arresting police officer also described Timberlake's eyes as "bloodshot" after apprehending him.
The singer was charged with one count of driving while intoxicated and two other traffic violations, including not stopping at a stop sign and failure to stay in a proper lane of travel. The Grammy-winning singer was arrested and eventually freed without bail the morning after.
