Fans were shocked and saddened when Little Mix announced in 2022 that they would be taking a hiatus. More recently, it was revealed that the girl group was supposed to reunite, but Perrie Edwards insisted not to continue it as they should focus on their solo careers.

The 30-year-old pop star appeared in an episode of the Dish podcast with Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett OBE, where she confirmed that there was one time when she and her bandmates, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall, were talking on their group chat because they were bored after their hiatus.

"We were like, I'm bored. What are you up to today? And Leigh-Anne would be like, 'I'm actually sick of this.' And Jade's like, 'Yeah, why did we push for this again?' she recalled.

Later, all of them thought of getting back again because it felt weird not to be in a group, but Edwards insisted they should continue to be firm with their decision.

"And I'm like, 'We've done it now, we have to see it through,'" she added.

"It was like, that was abnormal to us." She added: "We were bored out of our minds, it was horrendous and now I love doing nothing. Like I'm really good at it. So I don't think I'd like struggle that much. I love working and I love also not working. So I think it's a good balance," she further noted.

Little Mix rose to fame when they were formed on X-Factor in 2011. They won the entire reality singing competition series and had a successful career.

The girl group used to have four members, including Jesy Nelson, but she quit in 2020 to pursue a solo music career.

In other updates, Edwards spoke to the Zach Sang Show and hinted that one song from her new album makes her emotional. She explained that the track was inspired by a friendship she doesn't have anymore, seemingly hinting that it was about her former bandmate, Nelson.

"There's a friendship that I no longer have. I wrote a song about that. That song-I can't even listen to it without crying," she said, adding that the track is "really sad" because she doesn't talk to that friend anymore.

"They were a big part of my life so it's sad how it all ended up," she said.

When host Zach Sang asked her if they could get back together in the future as friends, the musician said she was open to the idea.
