Jennifer Lopez's mother, Guadalupe Rodríguez, is reportedly urging her daughter to end her marriage to Ben Affleck.
Sources close to the family suggest they worry Lopez is neglecting her well-being and settles for less than she deserves. They reportedly feel Affleck has given up on their relationship without making an effort to make it work.
The 54-year-old pop icon and the award-winning actor are currently facing scrutiny over their two-year marriage.
Now, the 78-year-old mother reportedly gave a cutting advice to her daughter, telling her to to prioritize her career and children by ending her marriage and moving forward.
An insider told the Daily Mail, "Cut your losses and move on to avoid getting any deeper in this mess."
"She told her that she'd wasted years believing that Ben was some kind of knight in shining armor."
The insider went on to say that Rodriguez adviced, "He was not the person she built him up to be. It's taken too much of a toll on her, and because of this she has lost sight of who she is and what she stands for."
Meanwhile, Lopez's sisters, Leslie Ann and Lynda, echo their mother's worries and fear the "Jenny from the Block" singer may have lost sight of their marriage's true nature.
The source revealed that at this point, Lopez is convinced Affleck is not worthy of her, a sentiment her sisters' echo. They also reportedly support the Atlas star's happiness but are concerned she fixates on what the marriage was supposed to be rather than its current reality.
In fact, the sisters hope Lopez takes the first step toward divorce and prioritizes her children and career.
According to the source, "It's upsetting to her family and [Lopez] that [Affleck] cannot see there is a woman who is loved by millions that will love him eternally - but he would rather throw in the towel than actually just try to fix things."
Another report by the Daily Mail revealed that the "Get Right" singer "has had enough and she really tried but she can do no more, it's not getting any better, it's worse." Lopez is reportedly tired of her husband's "grumpy and negative" attitude.
In Touch Weekly recently revealed that the two have reached a breaking point in their relationship.
"The writing is on the wall - it's over. They're headed for a divorce - and for once [Affleck's] not to blame."
Page Six also recently confirmed Lopez and Affleck split in March 2024. However, the couple remains tight-lipped about their marriage's status.
