Katy Perry reportedly hoped for an overwhelmingly positive reception of her latest song, "Woman's World."
Unfortunately, the "Roar" singer finds herself embroiled in a situation involving her upcoming album and a controversy, as the spotlight now shines on music producer Dr. Luke, credited on the unreleased album.
News of the producer's writing credits on the song sparked tensions due to his history of legal disputes with singer Kesha.
Known professionally as Łukasz Sebastian Gottwald, Dr. Luke is a highly accomplished music producer known for his collaborations with artists like Britney Spears and Avril Lavingne.
In October 2014, singer Kesha made serious allegations against him, sparking an investigation into his actions. Consequently, the "TikTok" singer chose to part ways with his Kemosabe Records label, ending her recording contract following a lengthy legal dispute spanning a decade during which she had accused Dr. Luke of both sexual and emotional abuse.
Despite Kesha's claims, the producer continues to refute the accusations against him.
Following the public exposure of her accusations, numerous artists, particularly female artists, face criticism for their decision to collaborate with Dr. Luke.
However, despite the backlash, Perry remains unfazed as she works with him. Sources suggest that she views him as instrumental in propelling her toward a successful musical comeback.

An insider revealed to the Daily Mail that the "California Girls" hitmaker was eager to join forces with the Grammy-nominated producer, even amid his ongoing legal issues involving allegations of sexual misconduct because of their successful collaborations on hit songs like "I Kissed A Girl" and "Teenage Dream."
"She understands she is controversial by working with Dr. Luke again, but they work so well together, and they have such a rapport with each other that she knows him in a different way than others might."
They continued, "Her relationship with Dr. Luke is an important one. So to have worked with him again is something she isn't bothered about, even though plenty of fans are."
The source went on to say, "She is scared as the music world today can be fickle, with artists here one minute and disappearing the next - but she has thrived before."
"Perry is ready to go through the fires and she believes in her new album and work. So many people want to see her fail, but she is using it as motivation."
They concluded, "She can't wait to support her album and prove everyone wrong. She wants this to be her renaissance."
Upon news of their collaboration surfaced, social media users were outraged, with @Hasan_Moneybags tweeting, "The fact that Katy Perry is working with Dr. Luke again just to revive her dying career while releasing a new song about empowering women really shows how morally bankrupt she is."
