Due to security issues, Nicki Minaj won't appear at the SAGA Festival in Bucharest, Romania.

In a tweet on X, formerly Twitter, Minaj shared the reason for her cancellation.

"Out of concern for the well-being of our team and myself, I have been advised by my security detail not to travel to Romania's festival tonight due to safety concerns regarding protests in the area," Minaj said on social media hours before her show. "I look forward to seeing you all at another time."

Minaj also noted that she was also looking out for her safety and the people she was working with.

"As a mom, I have to make sure I'm making sound decisions for me to make it home to my son and for my team to make it home to their families. To not heed the advice of security at this time is simply not what I think I should be doing. I love you and thank you for your understanding and support," Minaj added.

SAGA Festival organizers have also announced Minaj's cancellation on social media.

"It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce Nicki Minaj has just cancelled her performance due to concerns for her and her team's well-being in Romania... This has nothing to do with SAGA, and is beyond our powers," SAGA Festival organizers said in a statement. "The news has left us all devastated, and we know it's a huge disappointment for all of you, just as it is for us."

Organizers have noted that all unscanned tickets for Minaj's sold-out day will be refunded.

While Minaj did not specify which protests are taking place, Crisis24 reported that "several hundred to low thousands of protesters will take part" and that "the demonstration will likely be peaceful" as "business groups and taxpayers are demanding improvements to the state's fiscal policies and processes.

Minaj is on her last three shows for the European leg of the Pink Friday 2 World Tour. Following the cancellation of the Romanian festivalsheaj is set to return to London's Finsbury Park for the Essence Festival on July 12, 2024. She'll also perform at the Grosse Allmend in Frauenfeld, Switzerland, and Astrid Park in Liège, Belgium, on July 13, 2024, and July 14, 2024, respectively.

After a few months of break, Minaj is set to return for the second leg of the Pink Friday 2 World tour in the United States.
