YG Says LAPD Banned Him From Drake Vs. Lil Wayne Tour

The Drake Vs. Lil Wayne Tour was supposed to feature YG for a run of six September dates, but the "My Hitta" rapper announced Friday afternoon that he would be missing the next two in Irvine (Sept. 19) and Hollywood (Sept. 22).

The culprit? Los Angeles' police department, at least according to YG:

As previously reported last week, Drake and YG collaborated on "Who Do You Love" earlier this year, which served as the third single from YG's debut album My Krazy Life.

Following the song's release, controversy began to brew, chiefly around Drake's verse.

San Francisco rapper Rappin' 4-Tay put Drake on blast back in January when the track was released saying the YMCMB rapper clearly ripped off lyrics from his 1994 hit "Playaz Club."

Although no lawsuit was ever filed, sources told TMZ 4-Tay was offended Drake didn't give him credit on the song. 4-Tay's manager later told the site Drake's record label agreed to pay 4-Tay $100,000 for "borrowing" the lines.

4-Tay took to Twitter and Instagram to celebrate his lucrative victory. He even tweeted out information for setting up press interviews.

Meanwhile, YG is up for five BET Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta this weekend:

  • Best Collabo, Duo or Group ("My Hitta")
  • Track of the Year ("My Hitta")
  • Rookie of the Year
  • Best Club Banger ("My Hitta")
  • People's Champ Award ("My Hitta (Remix)")
