Sophie Turner Says Taylor Swift's 'The Tortured Poets Department' Has A 'Nice Grip' On Her

Sophie Turner enjoyed listening to Taylor Swift's newest album, The Tortured Poets Department.

In a conversation with Harper's Bazaar, Turner was asked what era she is currently in, referring to Swift's "Eras," as represented by her different albums throughout the decades.

"I'm 1989 every time, baby-that album doesn't get old," the Game of Thrones star said. "Although The Tortured Poets Department really has a nice grip on me at the moment."

The album's arrival last April 2024 came at the height of Turner's divorce and custody proceedings with her ex-husband, Joe Jonas, Taylor Swift's ex-boyfriend.

Notably, even before Turner and Jonas divorced, the former was public about her admiration of Swift, even acknowledging that she was her ex-husband's former flame.

Swift has become Turner's dear friend in the past few months. The pop star reportedly lent her Tribeca apartment in New York for the actress to stay in while she was in the United States.

A People magazine source revealed that Swift had opened her doors to Turner and had her family live in the apartment rent-free.

"Sophie is doing OK. She is happy to be back with her girls. Working in Europe was very hard for her. She missed her girls," the source revealed. "Taylor has opened her home to Sophie," the source continued. "Sophie is welcome there any time. Taylor continues to be a great friend."

Turner and Swift have been friends since 2017, when the former defended the latter on social media when Swift was added to TIME's 2017 Silence Breakers cover.

The X-Men actress also lip-synched to Swift's hit song "22" to celebrate her birthday in 2018. Swift and Turner met in 2019 at the Graham Norton Show, where many believe their friendship blossomed.

In the years that went by, Swift and Turner had grown very close, even though Swift and Jonas dated at one point in time - Turner even poked fun at that phase when she declared that "Mr. Perfectly Fine," a song believed to be for Jonas, is "not NOT a Bop."

Jonas filed for divorce in September 2023, ending their four years of marriage. Legal documents revealed that Turner had only learned of Jonas' divorce filing "through the media."
