A US citizen has been taken into custody following reports of threats made against Taylor Swift during her concerts in Germany.
Authorities are holding the man until the conclusion of Swift's shows in Gelsenkirchen for The Eras Tour.
The 14-time Grammy winner is scheduled to perform at three shows in Gelsenkirchen on July 17, 18, and 19, 2024.
The 34-year-old individual, whose identity remains undisclosed, is under suspicion of stalking the "Fortnight" singer.
Law enforcement reported that the man possessed a ticket for the Wednesday, July 17, show.
Upon notification from event organizers, the man was apprehended upon his arrival at the Veltins-Arena, as per information from WJW.
He is expected to be detained in prison until Saturday, July 20.
Authorities reported that the individual who has been stalking the singer and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, had issued threats on social media. The messages were not disclosed.
Luckily, The Eras Tour show on Wednesday evening proceeded without incident, drawing a crowd of 60,000 attendees, and authorities have assured that there are no security concerns for the upcoming Germany shows.
After the performances in Gelsenkirchen, Swift's schedule includes two shows in Hamburg and two in Munich until July 28, extending her stay in Germany.
One fan on social media X said, "No matter how long she's been dealing with this crap, I know it still terrifies her, and now her partner is involved, making it even worse. I can only imagine how Travis feels about it too."
However, instances of stalking and unsettling encounters have plagued Swift before.
Earlier this year, a stalker was apprehended outside her residence in New York City at approximately 3 PM and taken into custody by 6 PM, as reported by Page Six.
The man recently failed to enter her apartment, resulting in his arrest. However, he was soon released.
After the presence of a suspicious individual in the vicinity, the New York Police Department took swift action and made an arrest.
"They went after him on Hudson by Bubby's," the source revealed to the outlet. "He resisted and they had to tackle him."
Swift has been grappling with the unsettling presence of stalkers. In 2021, a different individual attempted to intrude into her residence, adding to her distressing experiences.
Hanks Johnson reportedly insisted that he had been in contact with the "Lover" singer through social media.
Hanks faced criminal trespassing charges following an arraignment and was released.
Before this incident, another individual unlawfully entered Swift's residence, where he made himself at home by sleeping on her couch and using her shower.
