BLACKPINK to Make Comeback With New Music, World Tour in 2025

Award-winning K-pop superstars BLACKPINK will officially reunite in 2025 to release new music and embark on a world tour, according to YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk.

The announcement was made in a video posted on YG Entertainment's YouTube channel.

"I can't say we have specific plans yet, but I think a lot of artists will be active simultaneously. There will be a highly anticipated comeback from BLACKPINK, and it will also be the year BLACKPINK starts their world tour," Yang said.

Yang also hinted at an upcoming group in the works, but details have not been officially revealed.

In addition, the video confirmed the forthcoming world tours of the label's two other superstars, rookie girl group BABYMONSTER and boy group Treasure.

It also featured the surprise return of K-pop icons 2NE1, with Yang sharing information about the reunion's scheduled events.

After months of intense rumors surrounding the expiration of the group's contract with YG Entertainment, it was revealed in December 2023 that the four members of BLACKPINK decided to extend their agreement with the company.

However, the four members did not sign back to YG Entertainment as solo artists. Lisa, Jennie, and Jisoo started their own record labels, while Rosé joined Teddy Park's The Black Label.

Lisa peaked at No. 8 on Billboard Philippines' Hot 100 with the chart-topping song "Rockstar," her first solo single outside of YG Entertainment.

BLACKPINK is set to release a new concert film documenting the highlights of its "Born Pink" world tour, including footage from various locations and performances at Seoul's Gocheok Dome.

Tickets for the film can be purchased here. BLACKPINK's concert film is slated to start showing in theaters around the country on July 31.
