Charli XCX firmly believes that her unique approach to creating dance music sets her apart from others in the industry.

The English singer-songwriter, whose real name is Charlotte Emma Aitchison, shared how her connection to the genre is instinctual, emphasizing that there was no other musical style she envisioned for her latest hyperpop album, "Brat."

Speaking to Resident Advisor, the "Apple" hitmaker said, "I had to make this record, and I had to root it in [dance music] because it's so intrinsic to me. There aren't many people in my position who could do it like I'm doing it."

Claiming her position in the music industry, the 31-year-old icon emphasized the importance of conducting proper research before labelling her as "too pop" for the electronic music genre.

"Oh, I'm sure there are many of them reading this--hello!" Charli told the publication.

"I'd say, if you think that I'm not supposed to be in your world, then do your f*****g research. Get reading, basically. And also -- I don't really mind. You can never please everyone, and why would I want to? That's not what I'm here to do."

Shortly after the release of "Brat," the album quickly gained popularity. It was later followed by a deluxe edition release.

The album's striking neon green cover sparked a widespread phenomenon that fans affectionately called the "Brat summer" trend.

In a June interview on the "BBC Sounds" podcast, Charli dived into the meaning of the trend, shedding light on whether a recent image of her aboard a speedboat aligned with its essence.

"It can go that way -- quite like luxury. But it can also be so trashy, just like a pack of cigs and a BIC lighter and a strappy white top with no bra," she said.

While discussing her future in creating hyperpop hits, Charli revealed that she does not expect herself to produce music indefinitely.

The "Speed Drive" artist also hinted at the possibility of venturing into new and creative projects in the future, not just in the music sphere.

"I would like to flex my creative muscles on other areas. I don't envisage myself making music forever," the "Vroom Vroom" singer confessed. "Maybe I will in some capacity, but I just feel like there are other creative areas I really want to explore."

Charli is stepping into the acting world in a modern take on the classic 1978 horror movie "Faces of Death."

Joining her in the cast are familiar faces such as Barbie Ferreira from "Euphoria" and Dacre Montgomery from "Stranger Things."
