Ice Spice has addressed critics and defended her friendship with Taylor Swift.
During a conversation with Rolling Stone magazine, the 24-year-old artist tackled accusations that her friendship with Swift is fake, dismissing allegations of opportunism and emphasizing the authenticity of their friendship.
"[It's] so rude to me [because] why would she not want to be my friend? Taylor f---s with me," Ice Spice said of the claims Swift only befriended her for clout.
Ice Spice, whose real name is Isis Naija Gaston, revealed that the 14-time Grammy winner is her most trusted celebrity pal.
The interview also dived into the respect and admiration shared between Ice Spice and Swift as they express their mutual appreciation for one another.
"She's so funny. I think our personalities mesh really well," the "Barbie World" singer said of Swift.
She also opened up about the emotional moment when she received a call from the "Lover" singer expressing interest in collaborating with her on Swift's song "Karma."
The singer from the Bronx recalled, "I remember my manager called me, and he usually texts, but he called, and he's like, 'You ready for this one?' And I'm thinking it's going to be some bad news or something."
"He's like, 'Taylor Swift has a record for you to get on from her album,'" shared Ice Spice, who also just recently released her new album, "Y2K!"
"I'm playing it cool on the phone. I'm like, 'Oh, that's cool. Super cool.' And then I hang up the phone, and I'm hysterically crying. I'm in my walk-in closet, and I'm like, 'Bro, this is not real life,'" she added.
Rolling Stone was also able to get Swift's opinion on the "Princess Diana" singer, and she gushed about her friend's artistic vision, curiosity, and dedication to music.
"I love when I meet a new artist who takes a keen interest in not just the music, but the music industry and how it works," Swift told the magazine.
"Seeing Ice lean into the strategic, financial, and business aspects of her career is really exciting for me. The more artists learn about the inner workings of the music industry, the more power they can have in their creative world," the "Cruel Summer" hitmaker added. "I knew based on the questions she asked and the observations she made that she didn't just want to be a passenger in her own career. She wanted to be the driver of it."
Following the debut of their joint project "Karma," Ice Spice and Swift started forming a strong bond when the rapper made a surprise appearance on stage during her "Eras Tour" performance in New Jersey.
Ice Spice disclosed that since then, she and the 34-year-old singer-songwriter have been in constant communication.
