As Jennifer Lopez marked her 55th birthday on July 24, her husband Ben Affleck finalized the purchase of his new $20.5 million bachelor pad on the very same day.
People reported that on the same day Affleck closed escrow on his Los Angeles home, the "Jenny from the Block" singer completed the transaction for her penthouse in New York City, selling it for a whopping $23 million.
Their moves came after they put their Beverly Hills marital estate on the market for $68 million earlier this month.
The "Gone Girl" actor's new home boasts five bedrooms, six bathrooms, spacious dining areas, a family room, walk-in closets, a media room, and other luxurious features.
The couple has not been photographed together in public in over a month, with Lopez and Affleck living in separate homes and different states.
A new report claimed that Affleck's recent property purchase deeply affected the "Hustlers" actress.
According to a source who spoke to Radar Online, "Ben's decision to move into his own home is the final insult."
"Jlo had been holding onto hope that there could be a reconciliation if they were to spend some time apart, but this is like a stab in the heart," the unnamed insider claimed.
This development fueled speculation that Affleck and Lopez might be moving toward a divorce.
In May, rumors started swirling about the marriage troubles between Affleck and Lopez when fans noticed that they had not been spotted together since late March.
Then, while Lopez remained in their shared Beverly Hills home, the actor moved out and into a luxurious monthly rental near his former wife Jennifer Garner's home in Brentwood.
Lopez and Affleck also did not publicly acknowledge their second wedding anniversary earlier this month.
