Killer Mike fans can download his surprise new album for free ahead of its official release.
Killer Mike's new album, "Songs for Sinners & Saints," officially drops on Friday. However, the rapper made it available as a free download for fans here for 48 hours before the official release to thank them for their support through the years.
"Songs for Sinners & Saints," the follow-up to last year's "Michael," was preceded by the single "Humble Me." Along with Killer Mike's gospel group The Mighty Midnight Revival, other appearances on the 10-track album include Offset, Key Glock, and Project Pat.
Killer Mike -- whose real name is Michael Santiago Render -- expressed gratitude for the journey he had been on in the Run the Jewels newsletter.
"This past decade has seen so many of my dreams come true, and the support I've received this past year with ['Michael'] has been so beautiful and inspiring that I realized I wasn't finished with the sound. I wanted to do something with the people who have been bringing it to life every night performing it with me," he wrote.
He added, "So, we made a new project called ['Michael And The Mighty Midnight Revival - Songs for Sinners & Saints.'] It's an epilogue to ['Michael'] and a thank you to all of you who believed in me (& US) from day one. The album comes out this Friday, August 2nd, BUT you get to download it for FREE right now."
Ahead of the album's official release, Killer Mike's YouTube channel streamed his final show at New York City's Blue Note Jazz Club live Wednesday for those who were unable to attend.
He will next perform at Lollapalooza this weekend before going on a short run of shows. Fans can get tickets to any of his upcoming concerts here.
Last weekend, Killer Mike showed that "folk" includes hip-hop and more at the Nelsonville Music Festival and the Newport Folk Festival.
