Jennifer Lopez and her husband Ben Affleck's blended family reportedly feels unsettled by the rumors of their impending divorce.
Despite the challenges, anonymous sources told In Touch Weekly that the strong bond between Affleck's kids, Violet, Fin, and Samuel, as well as the singer's children, Emme and Max, remains unshaken by the ongoing drama.
"The kids are old enough to know what's happening. Obviously, they're very sad about it. In a perfect world they'd love it if there was a way that Ben and J.Lo could work things out, but they're all pretty well resigned that's not happening," one insider told the outlet.
"They have a great relationship; they're still hanging out and talking all the time," the insider said of the estranged couple's kiddos. "They're not going to let this divorce ruin what they have."
The Daily Mail recently reported that Lopez and Affleck, who got married in 2022, have decided to move forward toward divorce. The divorce papers are allegedly already signed, and they are only waiting for the right time to file them, the outlet claimed. Music Times could not independently verify this information.
While the couple has been living apart in recent months, Affleck's kids have been maintaining their relationship with the "Get Right" singer.
According to In Touch Weekly's insider, Violet and her siblings have maintained a strong bond with Lopez, with Affleck's eldest child spending some time in the Hamptons with the "Hustlers" star.
The source added that Lopez's focus has shifted toward the children as she strives to support Affleck's kids during this time. Although she initially envisioned this journey with Affleck by her side, circumstances have led her to take on this role independently. The children have reportedly developed a genuine fondness for their stepmother.
Amid the potential end of their marriage, Lopez and Affleck reportedly remain dedicated to prioritizing their family above all else.
Throughout these transitions, they have ensured that their children and families remain their primary focus.
Meanwhile, a new report by the Daily Mail claimed to have revealed the underlying cause behind Affleck's decision to end his marriage with Lopez.
An unnamed friend of Affleck's claimed to the outlet that Lopez's alcohol business, Delola, was the final straw for the actor.
As someone in recovery from alcoholism, the "Gone Girl" star reportedly viewed his wife's involvement in selling vodka and tequila as not just a personal insult but also a potential threat to his hard-fought sobriety.
The insider went on to say that Affleck's struggle with addiction had been a long and difficult one.
They added that upon the brand's initial launch last year, the "Argo" director reportedly experienced depression, and his pain was compounded by his perception that Lopez's decision to introduce her beverage line was driven solely by monetary gain.
"Ben had to fight to get his life back after overcoming alcohol," the source told the Daily Mail. "Knowing how he lost everything, including the love of his family, knowing that he could possibly relapse, Jen decided to start her spritzer line for more money, as if she did not have enough."
"This was one of the things that broke the camel's back. But Ben saved his sobriety," the insider added.
