Jennifer Lopez is reportedly struggling to come to terms with the state of her relationship with her husband Ben Affleck as he allegedly holds back on filing for divorce to avoid further embarrassing her.
Speculation has been rife in the past months that the 55-year-old singer and the 52-year-old actor are headed for a divorce after just two years of marriage.
Amid the split rumors, a new report claimed that Lopez is finding the possibility of another failed marriage difficult to accept.
"She's furious," claimed an unnamed source who spoke to Page Six. "He has humiliated her. He was the one who initiated getting back together."
They went on, "He's humiliated her because she made a big deal that he's the love of her life. They just had two weddings two years ago. This is some kind of a record, they're not young kids."
Lopez and Affleck tied the knot twice in 2022, first in a small ceremony in Las Vegas and then a more lavish one in Georgia a month later.
The "Get Right" singer is also reportedly deeply concerned about the impact a divorce between her and Affleck would have on their blended family.
"There are five kids involved in this," the insider told the outlet. "She knew they were going to blend families. She has not fully accepted it is over."
Lopez and her ex-husband Marc Anthony co-parent their twins, Max and Emme, who are now 16. Meanwhile, Affleck and his ex-wife Jennifer Garner share three children, Violet, 18, Fin, 17, and Samuel, 12.
Despite recently purchasing a $20.5 million residence in Pacific Palisades in California, following the listing of their marital property for $68 million, Affleck is reportedly making a fresh start without immediately initiating divorce proceedings.
A second unnamed source told Page Six that the "Batman v. Superman" actor's decision to hold off on filing for divorce is driven by his desire to avoid further humiliation for Lopez, as he values her dignity and wishes to protect her feelings.
TMZ, citing an anonymous insider, recently reported that the "Gone Girl" star and "Hustlers" actress plan to push forward with a divorce but have cut off communication with each other, complicating the settlement negotiations.
The source informed the outlet that Affleck and Lopez have not yet enlisted the services of divorce attorneys. Instead, they are relying on their business managers to work through the necessary arrangements.
