Fans of quirky vinyl are in luck with the new release for Haim's single "My Song 5." The 12-inch release will come in the shape of guitarist and youngest sister Alana Haim, according to SPIN.
The release brings together brings together the concepts of picture discs and oddly-shaped vinyl: Although not actually a cut-out of the performer's outline, the 12-inch contains an image of the guitarist facing away from the viewer, with her shoulders and legs extending above and below the actual playable vinyl, respectively. It's not clear based on the Facebook photo posted whether the back of Alana's head will be visible as well, but we have to assume "not" due to the size limitations of most record players.
The performer is wearing a leather jacket bearing the band's name and the title of the track, plus a shout out to A$AP Ferg, who guest stars. The video for the track has been out for more than a month, making a splash by casting performers such as Ke$ha, Grimes and Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend on a faux-Springer style talk show.
The single is available for pre-order but it ain't cheap: $16.98 for the single, which features the original album version and the single remix that features Ferg's guest vocals. Amazon.com details the album as "very limited" but no number is given.
