While Drake made the mistake of not hopping on Rich Homie Quan's summer smash "Type of Way" when he had the chance, he has already made up for it.
RHQ told MTV that he and Drake hit the studio hard in recent months.
"We've been working a lot — we've probably got, like, three or four tracks together, so he definitely will be on my album," Rich Homie told MTV News on the BET Hip Hop Awards carpet. "At first it was through email, and after that I went on tour with Wiz Khalifa, the Under the Influence Tour. We went to Toronto, he hit me up, I pulled up on him at his house and we dropped some music."
Here is the kicker: The duo recorded so many songs that RHQ does not want to put them all on his record, so he said, "[Drake's] gonna use a couple, too."
Quan said he is about 40 percent done with his debut album, and he hopes to release the album at the top of 2015, according to MTV.
Before that, he will be on the Rich Gang album with Young Thug and a new DJ Drama single with Jeezy and Thugga to be released "very soon."
This summer, Drake lamented picking a "Versace" feature over Quan's "Type of Way."
"He's killing it on his own," Drake told MTV News this summer. "I was supposed to do 'Some Type of Way.' I probably should've done them both.
"Shoutout to Rich Homie. He's one of the nicest guys I've met, just off of first impressions. That record is like the song of the summer. I regret not getting on it. I feel like now if I get on it, people are gonna be like, 'Ah, man, you waited too long.'"
