Angaleena Presley's first solo project, American Middle Class, is due out on October 14. With the official release of the audio stream for "Grocery Store," fans get a glimpse of not only the project, but of a time in her life as well. She told Rolling Stone Country that she got the idea while standing in line when she was pregnant but it covers not only all the time she's spent in lines, but also when she worked as a cashier herself. While the work was tedious at the time, she can look back now and see how it had value. She explained, "It gave me the opportunity to meet all sorts of people from all walks of life, in every socioeconomic background you can imagine. I got so many song ideas from doing that. I feel like I learned a lot. And just standing on your feet all day, you learn to appreciate your time off."
