Jack White Announces Upcoming Work with The Dead Weather

After his 2012 solo release, "Blunderbuss," it appears that Jack White is getting back into the studio — this time with his old band The Dead Weather.

White's label, Third Man Records, announced on Twitter today that The Dead Weather has begun recording new material. The post included a photo of White, who is the drummer, with singer Alison Mosshart, guitarist Dean Fertita, and bassist Jack Lawrence. The last album the band put out was 2010's "Sea of Cowards" after their "Horehound" debut in 2009.

In his Rolling Stone Q&A earlier this year, White, who always has his hands full with simultaneous ventures, explained how these projects come about.

"Our things pick their place for us. We don't really sit down and pick them," he told them. "Like, the Kills make a record or Queens of the Stone Age makes a record, I make a record, and it all falls into place, you know? Like, we didn't know we were going to do two Dead Weather records in a row. We didn't have any plan at all. We were just going to record a seven-inch, and it keeps going, and we make two albums' worth of material."

It was only a matter of time before The Dead Weather got back into the studio together now that they are all living in Nashville.

Also, look out for more solo work from White as well. He told Rolling Stone that he has about 20 to 25 tracks in the works.
