Iggy Azalea: filed for divorce
Hours after Williams' common law marriage and divorce claims surfaced on TMZ, the "Black Widow" rapper took to Twitter to dismiss the fact that she was ever anybody's wife.
"I think we already all know, but just to clarify. I'm NOT married. Feel free to check the PUBLIC marriage records..." she wrote.
It's unclear whether Azalea is denying Williams' common law marriage claims or media reports that Williams was seeking a divorce.
According to the rumors, Azalea and Williams never went through an official wedding ceremony or had a marriage license, but Williams claimed they were in a common law marriage. Texas law states that a couple who agree to be married, live together in Texas as husband and wife and represent that they are married to others are engaged in a common law marriage, according to TexasLawHelp.org.
Wiliams is claiming that he and Azalea had this type of relationship, and he is seeking to bar his ex from selling assets they accumulated together during their relationship, including old music that Azalea worked on before she hit it big with "Fancy." If Azalea does release any music or sell assets that she accumulated during her time with Williams, any of the profits would be split evenly between the two.
The common law marriage and divorce filings are just the latest in the tumultuous saga between Azalea and her ex. Previously, Williams was shopping around a sex tape the two reportedly made together, though Azalea claimed she was underage at the time.
