Made in America Music Festival

Arguably the most diverse festival of the weekend, Made in America Festival, hosted by Budweiser, has secured a pretty stellar lineup. Leading up to this weekend, the festival went on a cross-country promotional tour that showcased up-and-coming artists. During these shows, they give away tickets to the main festival in Philadelphia, which takes place this Saturday and Sunday. This is the second year of the festival, which was the brainchild of producer/rapper Jay-Z.

Fun Fact: Ron Howard produced a documentary on last year's festival, which will premiere Oct. 11 on Showtime.

Electric Zoo

Electric Zoo, commonly known as E-Zoo, is an electronic music festival held on Randall's Island Park in New York City. This year is the fifth year of the festival, which begins today (Aug. 30) and goes through Sunday (Sept. 1).

Notable Acts: Avicii, Tiesto, David Guetta, Bassnectar, Steve Aoki, Diplo, Zedd, Knife Party, Benny Benassi, Excision, Baauer, Big Gigantic, Gramatik, A-Track, Above & Beyond and more.

Fun Fact: Diplo plans to include a "TWERK wall" in his set in order to break a world record. He asked fans to submit twerking videos for a chance at free admission.

Northcoast Music Festival

Moving away from East Coast festivals, we have Chicago's Northcoast Music Festival, running from today (Aug. 30) through Sunday (Sept. 1). The festival is in its fourth year, and it has started to become a contender among festivals such as Lollapalooza and Pitchfork. This year's lineup covers a wide spectrum of genres, including electronic, hip-hop, blues-rock, indie-rock and pop. It takes place in Union Park, located in downtown Chicago.

Notable Acts: Passion Pit, Wu-Tang Clan, Afrojack, Big Gigantic, Nas, The Disco Biscuits, Lotus, Mac Miller, Gary Clark Jr., Aloe Blacc, Paper Diamond, Datsik, Gramatik, Purity Ring, Future Rock, The Werks and more

Fun Fact: Northcoast Music Festival was born out of Zach Putin's (one of the independent promoters who began the festival) desire to have a festival for "Those who like to get down," which he believed that Chicago did not have at the time.

Bumbershoot Festival

Bumbershoot Music Festival is the longest running festival going on Labor Day Weekend. It began in 1971 and features musical acts, comedy acts, film showcases and other art activities. The two-day event starts tomorrow (Aug. 31) and goes through Sunday (Sept. 1). It takes place in Seattle, Washington at the Seattle Center.

Fun Fact: The Seattle Center was built for the 1962 World's Fair, and the festival's name came the colloquial term for an umbrella.

Sun City Music Festival

Sun City Music Festival is celebrating its third anniversary this year. The electronic music festival takes place in Ascarte Park in El Paso, Texas this Saturday (Aug. 31) and Sunday (Sept. 1). It is the largest dance-music event in the area. Tiesto, one of the headlining acts, told the El Paso Times, "The crowds in El Paso are really unique due to the geographic lcoaiton, and the crowd response is always amazing." The festival is still in its infancy, but the big names featured this year could really make a difference in sales for next year.

Fun Facts: The festival features performers dresses as insects, roaming through the crowd.
