America has had more than a year now to digest the fact that Hannah Montana, aka Miley Cyrus, has become one of the nation's most controversial sex symbols, but several poor Australians did not get the memo before attending her shows this week.
From The Daily Mail:
The controversial performer's Melbourne show shocked and appalled some parents who had taken along their young children to see the former Disney child star's show.
Here are some sample fan reactions:
• Rea Philips, 23, who took her niece Mia, eight, to the concert, told Daily Mail Australia: 'It was so inappropriate I had to cover Mia's ears and yes.
'She [Miley] was saying the F-word too much, it was pointless. I feel really bad I brought Mia along.'
• Another mother of two boys aged 12 and: 'We knew it would be like this but she's outrageous. We left early, I don't my sons hearing that stuff. It's disgusting.'
• Even fan Elly Shaananpour, 13, from Doncaster in Melbourne, said she was left speechless by Cyrus's stage antics. 'My mum still thinks she's like Hannah Montana so she has no idea what she's like now. She won't be happy.'
For those of you who have not experienced the Bangerz Tour, the act includes constant sexual innuendo and imagery. Australians got to see Miley singing on top of a giant hot dog, Miley staging a fake orgy, Miley spreading her legs on top of an automobile, and so on.
The "Wrecking Ball" singer will be terrorizing four more local cities in the next couple weeks, with stops in Boondall (October 15), Sydney (October 17), Adelaide (October 20) and Perth (October 23).
