Katy Perry sure likes people guessing about whether or not she is performing at the halftime show for Super Bowl XLIX. After media reports surfaced last week that the "This Is How We Do" singer will be taking the stage at 2015's biggest days in sport, Perry is remaining coy... all while talking about how much she loves football on Twitter.
Last week, Billboard reported that Perry has been confirmed as the headliner for Super Bowl XLIX's halftime show. Neither Perry nor the NFL have spoken out about this new development, but Perry is talking more and more about sports on Twitter.
"Ahh, Sunday...Nothing but sitting on the couch, watching my new favorite sport..." Perry tweeted.
The cryptic tweet, which includes a nice little football emoji is just the latest display in Perry's newfound love for football. During the first weekend of October, Perry appeared on ESPN's College Gameday, causing a general ruckus. Later that night, she was seen around town partying with football fans and acting just like one of the gang.
Perry's appearance on College Gameday seemed to be confirmation enough for many that she would be taking on a bigger role in the NFL... like being the halftime performer.
Perry has been rumored to be a prime choice for the Super Bowl halftime show since August, when reports surfaced that the NFL was asking performers to pay for the privilege of reaching the massive football watching American audience. She has reportedly beat out the likes of Coldplay and Rihanna for the task of halftime show.
Super Bowl XLIX will take place on Feb. 1, 2015.
