TLC Believes That June Shannon Put Kids At Risk By Seeing Child Molester Ex, Cancels 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo'

It didn't take TLC long at all to put distance between themselves and the rumored actions of June Shannon of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. Yesterday we told you about a scandalous report that claimed Shannon was secretly seeing her old boyfriend. The problem is that Mark McDaniel was convicted of molesting an 8-year old member of Shannon's family more than ten years ago. He served a decade in prison and was released just last spring. In recent months Shannon has reportedly snuck off to see McDaniel and there are photos to prove it.

While Shannon issued a statement insisting that she split with McDaniel ten years ago because of his crimes and would never go back, the photo seems to tell a different story. Because of that TLC has announced that Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is officially canceled and that the season that they recently finished taping will never air. They also will continue to provide necessary things such as tutoring and counseling for Shannon's children.

"Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority. TLC is faithfully committed to the children's ongoing comfort and well-being," says the network.

Obviously, based on the photo that hit the press yesterday, Shannon isn't exactly telling the whole truth. Do you think her judgment is so off that she really has rekindled things with McDaniel or did they happen to end up in the same place at the same time? Are you surprised that TLC not only decided to air on the side of caution but that they will still be invested in the health and well-being of the kids? That seems to show that the network cares for more than just their own publicity and ratings because while the show isn't as hot as it initially was, it still will equal a financial loss for TLC based on a full season that will never be seen.
