Avicii, Nicki Minaj, Lorde, And More Partner With Disney For Fantasia: Music Evolved Video Game [WATCH]

A new video game from Disney called Fantasia: Music Evolved puts the power of composing music into gamers' hands. Based off the 1940 animated film Fantasia and built by Harmonix for Xbox One and Kinect for Xbox 630, the game is powered by motion control, where different body movements allow users to interact with the music. The game hosts more than 30 artists including Avicii, Peter Gabriel, Lady Gaga, Gorillaz, Queen, Sting, Lorde, Bruno Mars, Drake, The White Stripes, Nicki Minaj, Drake, The Flaming Lips, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, and the Who as well as Beethoven, Bach, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi and other classical composers.

In addition to the on-disc setlist, there is downloadable content, which consists of 18 songs and three remix expansion packs.

Fantasia: Music Evolved is built for the remix culture, where players become virtual conductors, mashing-up songs and styles by swiping, waving and gesturing toward the screen. Although creative control is emphasized, players score points based on how accurate they keep time with the music. Players are able to share their final, saved remixes after they complete each level.

Avicii took to Facebook saying he was excited about his inclusion in the game. "Levels is on the new Fantasia game! Go check it out. Can't wait to try it out myself!"

This isn't the first time that the EDM superstar has partnered with Disney. Back in April, the company released a compilation of EDM remixes to Disney songs called DCONSTRUCTED. He took on Daft Punk's Tron Legacy track "Derezzed."

Fantasia: Music Evolved is available in stores now. Check out an example of the gameplay below (via TheBanginBeats), and let us know what you think in the comments section!
