Want Taylor Swift Tickets? Forbes Predicts '1989' Singer's Shows Will Be Cheaper Than Ever

Taylor Swift's star is bigger than ever, but that might create an adverse effect on her ticket prices.

According to a new report from Forbes, Swift's growing fame will directly correlate to larger venue choices and, in turn, cheaper tickets.

From the report: For any upcoming tour, Swift would likely follow the model of One Direction, which played exclusively in large stadiums for this summer's Where We Are Tour. That would mean more capacity and cheaper tickets.

In 2011, Taylor Swift tickets for her Speak Now World Tour had a secondary average of $177.43. For the Red Tour in 2013, she toured with Ed Sheeran and had an average ticket price of $170.76 on the secondary market. One Direction wrapped their string of stadium shows on their Where We Are Tour earlier this month and saw a 40% decrease in ticket price on the secondary market in comparison to their 2013 Take Me Home Tour, which was played exclusively in arenas.

Forbes believes that if Swift were to play similar venues to 1D, her tour average may fall into the $100-$107 price range, which would obviously make fans happy (they're currently paying hundreds of dollars for smaller gigs Swift is playing this autumn).

Swift has not announced any major tour dates yet, but she recently talked about her switch from country artist to pop star.

"It wasn't until about a year in that I admitted to myself and my team that this is a pop album," she said. "We can't call it country; that would be the most disingenuous thing we can do, and out of respect for a [genre] and a music town that I adore, I have to be honest. I think being upfront with people that you care about is the most honest way of going about your life and your decisions."

What's so alluring about pop music?

"You can shout, speak, whisper - if it's clever enough, it can be a hook," she said. "Playing around with different sounds has been exciting as well - sounds from the '80s I was obsessed with, like, synth pop. I love the production of Peter Gabriel and Madonna in the late '80s, and Annie Lennox and Sinéad O'Connor as far as vocal styling."
