Flume Releases 1-Hour-Long Japan Influeced Quest Mix On BBC Radio One With Annie Nightingale

There are few artists in the dance world as hot as Australian producer/DJ Harley Edward Streten, known professionally as Flume. He brought that heat up the UK and the BBC Radio One airwaves on Wednesday night on Annie Nightingale's show. His "Quest" mix is influenced by his first trip to Tokyo and this is his soundtrack to that trip.

The mix does just exactly what Flume intends; it takes us on a journey (via Dancing Astronaut). Meant for relaxing or a late night, Flume includes some cuts from hot artists at the moment like Ta-Ku, Kaytranada, Rustie, RL Grime, Djemba, FKA twigs and others. It is exploration of Flume's mind and his taste making abilities even when he is just traveling from the road. Ride with the mix as it gently transitions from one song to the next, ebbing and flowing over slight peaks and valleys.

Flume has gone from underground hero to mainstay in the dance world in the matter of a year. His self-titled album released in 2012 did well, but continued to pick up momentum over 2013 as he became noticed by more artists and exponentially grew his fan base. This year has been a heavy touring year for Flume, but he has managed to get out remixes for none other than Lorde and Arcade Fire.

As he says at the beginning of the mix, he is back in the studio and we hope that means new music soon. He has been busy working producing on his side project with Emoh Instead called What So Not and actual Flume productions have been less frequent in 2014.

There are no new premieres in this mix; there are actually no Flume songs in the entire mix. Instead you will hear all music from his friends and artists he likes and respects. Check out the tracklist below.
