Kid Rock dropped the release date for his 10th studio album, First Kiss, yesterday, Nov. 12. The "Cowboy" singer's follow-up to 2012's Rebel Soul will be out Feb. 24 with a tour planned for summer 2015.
"First Kiss signals the continued evolution of one of music's most versatile performers," reads a press release, Billboard noted. "But we're not going to tell you what it sounds like — we just couldn't do it justice and we're confident the music will speak for itself."
The entertainer produced a majority of First Kiss himself following his last U.S. tour in 2013. Reps for Kid Rock promised that details on a summer tour would be announced soon. In the meantime, fans can catch the rocker on his Chillin' the Most Cruise in March.
While Rebel Soul was a solid release for the Michigan singer, his two records before that album were monsters. 2007's Rock n Roll Jesus conquered the Billboard 200 and Top Rock Albums charts with songs like "Amen," "So Hott" and "All Summer Long." Kid Rock returned with Born Free in 2010, which also did impressive on the charts.
"A sprawling disc of storytelling, pop history and partying, Kid Rock's ninth studio album seeks the grooves and reach of classic soul — with a Detroit bull-god spin, of course," Rolling Stone wrote about Rebel Soul, giving it 3 1/2 out of five stars. "Self-produced in Michigan with his colorful Twisted Brown Trucker Band, this ruggedly consistent and robustly sung music jumps genres and makes statements. Soul, according to Kid Rock, does what it wants."
According to a Kid Rock fansite, the artist debuted a new song last year on his cruise concert tentatively titled "Ain't Enough Whiskey."
In other news, back in July, Kid Rock was ordered to hand over a glass dildo belonging to the Insane Clown Posse because it was evidence in a sexual harassment case.
