Flying Lotus Debuts New Kendrick Lamar Verse On "Eyes Above" During San Diego Show [WATCH]

Back when he was promoting his new album, Flying Lotus revealed that he and Kendrick Lamar had collaborated on several songs together, though only one, "Never Catch Me," appeared on his album You're Dead! last month, which left fans wondering what happened to the rest. Last night at his show in San Diego, the producer debuted a verse from one of his Lamar collaborations, "Eyes Above," which as Complex points out appeared on the album without Lamar for undisclosed reasons.

In a video clip uploaded to YouTube, Lamar's verse can be heard clearly as he raps, "I should just break out the answers and hope that humanity handles it, this is no radio flip, this is me taking your food, this is you bullied at school, give up your jacket and shoes, this how I practice the rules."

It is unclear whether the full version of the song will be released.

On working with Lamar, Flying Lotus told Rolling Stone they the two of them work really well together.

"Kendrick and me, man, we had a special vibe between our chemistry," he told them. "We've been trying to link up for years — I really felt sh*tty when I wasn't on good kid, m.A.A.d. city, to be honest. I really wanted to be on that album. But we really only got to know each other after it. He talked about me contributing to his new album, and I was down with that. I sent him a bunch of stuff, and then I asked if he'd do something for my album, and he was super into the concept of my record and really wanted to be part of it. I was just flattered.

"So yeah, it just came about sort of naturally: He came through the crib and recorded it and it was great. The funny part is, though, that he wanted to keep that sh*t for his album. When I first sent him the track, he was trying to convince me to give it to him. Like, "Nah, man, I need that!"

Lamar will appear on Saturday Night Live this weekend as the musical guest. His follow-up to his critically acclaimed debut good kid m.A.A.d. city is expected to drop either this year or early 2015.
