Lollapalooza has announced the lineups for its three South American festivals coming this spring in 2015 as reported by Billboard. The three festivals will take place on consecutive weekends in March in Santiago, Chile on March 14-15 in Buenos Aires, Argentina on March 21-22 and on March 28-29 in Sao Paolo, Brazil. The lineups will feature many of the same headliners like Jack White, Calvin Harris, Skrillex, Foster The People, Smashing Pumpkins, Major Lazer and Robert Plant, but there are plenty more local and international acts that join the festival on each date.
The Chile edition will include artists like Kings Of Leon, Nicky Romero, Rudimental, Bastille, Damian Marley, Interpol, The Kooks, SBTRKT, Dillon Francis, Cypress Hill and Alt-J.
The Buenos Aires edition will include additions like Pharrell, Rudimental, Nicky Romero, Chet Faker, The Kooks, Big Gigantic, Cypress Hill, Kasabian, Interpol, St. Vincent and others.
The final weekend of the Lollapalooza South American tour in Brazil will feature Childish Gambino, Steve Aoki, The Chainsmokers, Marina And The Diamonds, Young The Giant, Carnage, Three Days Grace and many more.
The festival has taken a decidedly more electronic route in the last few years as the popularity of dance music has exploded in the United States and South America, but it still sticks to its guns as a diverse and well-balanced festival.
Lollapalooza just announced that it would continue its global expansion earlier this fall. It has decided to try and bring its festival brand to Europe, more specifically Berlin. It will be a challenge in the super saturated European festival market, but the Lollapalooza brand carries weight globally and will be crucial to successfully launching the festival franchise across the Atlantic.
However before that happens, Lollapalooza must focus on its South American expansions and these lineups have been a great way to start.
