With its expansionary plan just announced, dance music festival Mysteryland USA has officially announced its return to Bethel Woods, New York, over Memorial Day weekend in 2015. Mysteryland will take place May 22 to 24, 2015, on the site of the famed original 1969 Woodstock. Organizers have also announced details for purchasing tickets and camping options.
According to a press release, Mysteryland will be adding a new camping option and outdoor camping stage, dubbed "The Pineapple Paradise," in addition to the Camping Circus and BangOn! Bus, which bring a total of three stages in the Holy Ground stages in the Holy Ground camping site. The festival pre-party will take place Friday between 2 p.m. and 2 a.m. on the Holy Ground camping site, with additional parties starting in the campgrounds each morning at 11 a.m. before commencement of the music on the actual festival grounds.
The festival offers several different types of "glamping" options that will be equipped with showers, beds, power outlets, lighting and more.
In its second year, the festival just cleared its first big permit hurdle as it looks to expand the festival capacity. It was given approval 5-0 by the town board to expand from 7,500 people to 20,000 people this year. It still has a final hurdle to clear from the New York State Health Department so it can last longer than 60 hours, which is critical to the festival going forward, accoridng to a report by the Record Online.
Pre-sale tickets go on sale Dec 4 at 10 a.m., general tickets go on sale beginning Dec. 5 at 10 a.m. and a special pre-sale for Mastercard holders begins Dec. 3 at 10 a.m. You can register at Myseryland's website here.
Mysteryland, which got its start in 1993 in the Netherlands, has since expanded to a global festival in Chile and the United States, notably under the guise of its new owners, dance music conglomerate SFX. Like last year and other ID&T events in the United States, which include Tomorrowland and Sensation White, the festival will be for people aged 21 and up.
